The Story

Demonic entities, nightmarish creatures and writhing, agonised bodies: this artwork really does have a lot going on. It depicts the rebel angels archangel Michael banished from heaven, and was engraved by Alexis Loir I from Charles Le Brun’s painting sometime in the 1680s. Epic.
